Nauti Knitter's Ruana and Shawl (Knit PDF Pattern)
PLEASE NOTE: This listing is for a PDF KNITTING PATTERN and not a physical knit item. There will be no refunds or exchanges for PDF pattern sales.
You will be able to download your pattern for 24 hours after purchase so please download immediately to you computer or cloud storage drive.
Both the shawl and ruana instructions are included in this pattern. A video tutorial for the waves drop stitch is also included with purchase of this pattern.
The Nauti Knitter’s Shawl is a lightweight, extra wide and long shawl, with drop stitch and garter stitch details. It can be seamed at the ends to form an infinity shawl that can be looped around the neck multiple times, or worn unseamed as an oversized scarf/shawl.
The Nauti Knitter’s Ruana is a lightweight, oversized ruana with drop stitch and garter stitch details. It is made by creating two rectangular panels and seaming them together at the back and the sides (optional).
Difficulty Level: Adventurous Beginner
Size Information:
The Nauti Knitter's Shawl measures approximately 15” wide x 90” long.
The Nauti Knitter’s Ruana is intended to have approximately 10-20” of positive ease around the bust. There is no waist or hip shaping to this ruana and it’s intended to fit oversized and flowy. If you have a bigger tummy or hips, consider using your biggest
measurement for finding the appropriate ease of your garment. Choose a size that is approximately 10-20” more than your bust (or tummy/hips) to ensure the intended fit.
Finished Ruana Measurements:
Bust Measurement - 1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6)
46”, 53”, 60” (67”, 74”, 82”)
Suggested Yarn:
Fingering weight yarn that will give a nice drape. I used The Little Wolf Knits Catamaran base (75/25% superwash blue face leicester/nylon (4 ply) ).
Yardages:
For the shawl: Approximately 900 yards
(2 skeins of the Little Wolf Knits Catamaran base)
For the ruana: Yardage estimates are based on written dimensions per size. If adding or subtracting length or ease, your
yardage estimates will vary.
Size: 1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6)
3, 3, 3 (4, 4, 4) skeins of LWK Catamaran
980, 1124, 1278 (1431, 1585, 1738) yards
Other Materials Needed:
US 5 (3.75 mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Scissors
Darning/Yarn needle
Stitch markers (6 optional for seaming and trying on)
