CONSTRUCTION
The SEXYgon cardi is made by creating 2 large granny stitch hexagons and folding and seaming them together. This is a great pattern for adventurous beginner crocheters and anyone looking for a relaxing and meditative make.
A FEW NOTES ON GAUGE AND SIZING
The SEXYgon Cardi is intended to have 8-14” of positive ease in the bust for an oversized and comfy fit. Sleeve and body length/width is determined by how large you make your hexagons. You want to achieve the appropriate bust ease and then you can add sleeve or body length after seaming. Choose a size that is 8-14” more than your bust to ensure the intended fit. Designer is wearing a size 2, is 5’10” tall and has a 41” bust.

Due to the nature of working with hexagons, as you increase the overall size of the cardigan to achieve the intended bust ease, the sleeve length and width also increase. Because of this I have created a modified hexagonal panel option for certain sizes. There is a measurement chart and schematic provided for all sizes to help you determine which option you would prefer. Be sure to read the fit tips for further help in choosing your option, mods, and size!
Gauge (blocked): 3 V sts (with Ch 3 in between) = 3.5” and 3 rows of V st = 1.75” (blocked)
SUGGESTED YARN AND YARDAGE
Hobbii 8/8 Rainbow Cotton (DK)
Hobbii 8/6 Rainbow Cotton (Sport)
This pattern can be made with any yarn weight and hook as long as you like the fabric you create and you work to the measurements provided in the pattern for your size.
All yardages are approximates and are based on unmodified SEXYgon version with DK yarn. The modified version will take less yarn.
