The Shell We Beach Bag is a knit beach bag that can hold all your beach day necessities AND let’s you SHELLebrate your mermaid soul ;) The lace seashell stitch is much easier than it looks and garter stitch borders and base keep this project meditative and simple.

Construction
You will start by knitting a garter stitch rectangle for the base of the bag. Then you will pick up stitches around the rectangle and continue in garter before switching to the lace shell stitch. You will finish with a section of garter stitch and then bind off.
Straps are knit separately and sewed to the bag for structure and strength.

Difficulty Level
Adventurous Beginner

Finished Measurements
If using my gauge and suggested measurements, the bag measures approximately 16” wide and 14” tall (without straps).

Suggested Yarn:
Worsted cotton or cotton blend yarn. My sample was made with Tropical Yarnie’s Vegan Stretch Worsted (40% Tencel, 40% Organic Cotton, 20% Elastic) in colorways Light Pink and Palm Breeze.

Yardages:
Approximately 540 yds
used a little under 200 g (376 yds) of MC and a little less than 100 g of CC (188 yds).
