The Basic Stitch Bikini Pattern (PDF)

$8.00

Every Season Is Bikini Season!!!!!!!!!

The Basic Stitch Bikini is a beginner friendly, basic bikini pattern with scalloped shell border and a low rise, moderate coverage bottom. The top is completely customizable so your “gals” are snug and secure inside.

If you’ve been wanting to make a bikini to fit YOUR BODY, this is the bikini for you! The bikini top has detailed instructions (and video tutorial) on how to make cups that fit YOUR breasts, so whether you’re a size AA or H, you’re covered ;) Yardages for the top will vary based on the amount of coverage you want and the size and shape of your breasts, but I would recommend at least 150 yards for those who typically wear cup sizes A-D, and at least 200 yards for cups DD and higher.

The bottoms are based off of your lower hip measurements (measured around the widest part of your bum) and are as follows: Size 1 (33-34”) Size 2 (35-36”) Size 3 (38-40”) Size 4 (42-44”) Size 5 (46-48”) Size 6 (52-53”) Size 7 (54-55”) Size 8 (56-57”). Yardages for the bottoms of each size are approximate as you can add or subtract rows in the back panel and front panel of the bottoms to increase the height/coverage of your bikini. Sizes 1-3 (up to 145 yards), Sizes 4, 5, 6 (up to 180 yards), Sizes 7 and 8 (up to 240 yards).

The recommended yarn for this pattern is Yarn Bee Comfy Classic. This yarn has a lot of stretch and although is listed as worsted (4), it has a slightly heavier feel. Testers have subbed cotton, nylon and polyester worsted yarns with great results, so as long as you can meet gauge, I say use what makes you happy. PLEASE NOTE: Unless you use a microfiber yarn, this bikini is a SUN BATHING SUIT and NOT intended for wear in the water. If you would like to make your bikini a SWIMSUIT, I highly recommend using Alize Diva Stretch. This is a very thin microfiber yarn, but if you hold 3 strands together, it mimics the same weight and has worked successfully in this pattern. Your yardages will be different than those listed above if you decide to use this yarn.

If you are a newbie crocheter or just a visual learner, there are video tutorials for the bikini top cups and how to line your crochet bikini.

*** NOTE *** This is a PDF PATTERN. NOT A PHYSICAL BIKINI. No refunds or exchanges will be given once this pattern is purchased. You will receive a link to access the PDF after purchase.
